Chat is the word used for online typed discussions with other users of the World Wide Web, in real time. Chat Rooms on the web allow you to link up with other users, possibly on the other side of the world, and enjoy an exchange of information using your keyboard for input. A chat room or chatroom is an online site in which people can chat online (talk by broadcasting messages to people on the same site in real time). Internet relay chat is a particular chat room system found on the World Wide Web. Instant messaging or IM is a form of real-time communication between two or more people based on typed text. The text is conveyed via computers connected over a network such as the Internet.
