Firewire

Firewire is a protocol to allow the rapid transfer of data. A firewire port or connection on your computer can be used to connect peripherals such as digital cameras or external hard drives that require a fast connection. A firewire connection is favoured by people working with large digital image or digital audio files. The technical designation for firewire is IEEE 1394.
