All Ask Computer and Internet Glossary

Javascript

Javascript is a simplified programming language to write programs that will run on the web. Javascript was developed by Netscape, a company that provided one of the first World Wide Web browsers. Javascript is often used to provide fancy menus and interactive content on modern web pages. Javascript is interpreted by the browser so no additional software is required by the user.
