USB is an abbreviation for Universal Serial Bus and is a protocol to allow the rapid transfer of data. A USB port or connection on your computer can be used to connect peripherals such as digital cameras, external hard drives, printers, keyboards, joysticks and more. USB allows you to connect and disconnect peripherals to your computer without the need to shutdown or restart your system. A single USB port can be used to connect up to 127 different peripherals.
